Touching the Past

This project is led by Open Storytellers and Elderventure members are acting as mentors and also as guinea pigs for the products.

An enthusiastic team of adults with learning disabilities is creating a portfolio of tangible structures that can hold pictures and things that reconnect people to past events and to past people in their lives.

Being able to touch and handle memories has been shown to aid recall in people who have dementia and people recovering from strokes because they access different parts of the brain to retrieve the memories.
